videocard

My son was hanging out with one of his friends. They were browsing the web and playing games. The friend asked if he could see our video card. My son told him he could and then took it out and showed it to him. We were surprised to discover that his friend didn’t realize that you could do a lot more with a computer than just do work and play video games, especially if you have a decent video card. He said he didn’t know that you could watch tv and movies.

Do you listen to a lot of music at home? I do. I listen to music from a variety of places – my computer, the television, the stereo and the satellite radio. I knew a man that loved listening to his MP3 collection so much that he networked a couple of computers in his house so that he could control and listen to his MP3 collection from any room. Where does the music you listen to at home come from?

Do you have more than one computer? A number of people do. Some people with a number of computers in their home often use one as a server. For those that don’t know, a server is like a regular computer in many ways except that it is designed to serve other computers and store information. Some might even call it an industrial computer.

Money is getting tighter and tighter these days. There are still a lot of people out there with no health insurance, as well as countless others with poor coverage. Two women in my office have actually started diagnosing and treating their own minor illnesses based only on reading. There are some things, like diabetes, that I feel must be followed by a doctor. Other things, like whether or not Colonix really works are another matter. I found a website called AskADoctor that allows people that submit a question online to receive answers from three licensed doctors by email for one fee. I myself probably wouldn’t do it but I can see where people with no insurance might find it helpful.

There’s lots of information available on the internet, far more than we could ever have in our homes. No matter if you’re wanting to browse the latest fashions, buy HGH, research something or just read for pleasure the internet is definitely an endless resource. For those that don’t have a computer or don’t have internet access but want or need to go on line occasionally, check your local library. Many libraries offer free or low cost internet access. Didn’t know libraries offered more than books? Many libraries also offer children’s programs and workshops as well as free and inexpensive classes. When is the last time you checked out your local library?

If you’ve got a laptop that’s wifi ready you can blog in all different types of places. Many new retail franchises are offering wifi in order to attract customers, including hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and even gas stations. If you’re looking for a wifi spot in your area or planning a trip and hoping to get online for a few minutes check out Wififreespot,a website that allows users to locate free publicly accessible wifi by searching by state within the US and by country outside of it.

We’ve been having some problems with the Tivo in our living room. Occasionally it freezes up. Sometimes it just shuts itself off. I’m thinking it’s time to replace it. Some of the newer Tivo models allow users to connect their Tivo to their home network, either using wireless or by using CAT5e cable.I’m trying to decide if this is a feature I’d use much, and what other things I’d need to make it work. From what I’ve read by doing this I’d be able to access the music and photos on my computer, and even transfer shows from one Tivo DVR to another or a laptop. Do any of you have your Tivo connected this way? Do you like it? Is the quality effected? Is it a capability worth having?

Many people have things in their homes that they no longer use but aren’t sure how to get ride of properly. Old computers for example. No matter if you’ve upgraded to a newer one or are just a pack rat like my Dad, if you’re a hard core computer user chances are you have a computer, laptop or monitor that you can’t or don’t use anymore just sitting around. You can’t just throw them in the garbage, so they sit in your house, attic or garage. I have a possible solution for you to check out. It’s a site I found today called MyBoneYard. This is a new site that accepts many used electronics for recycling. Just fill out the form online and it tells you if your item qualifies. If it does you’ll be sent a prepaid shipping label to use to send that item to them. Some qualified items will even earn you some cash back. Sounds like the perfect way to get rid of old electronics. Visit MyBoneYard today to learn more about recycling your old electronics. And when MyBoneYard receives your qualifying recyclable item, you will receive an entry into their sweepstakes for a $2,500 home entertainment system.
