Thanksgiving is almost here. One of the things that I’ve done almost every year for as long as I can remember is watch the Thanksgiving Day parade. Earthcam will be offering a Thanksgiving webcam with a live webcast of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thanksgiving, beginning at approximately 9:30am. Multiple cameras will offer several different views.

I thought I’d pick a place I haven’t been for today’s Saturday Safari. There’s lots of places I haven’t been, just about everywhere except the East Coast. I always her about Arizona so I checked out some webcams there. I found the Sedona Cam which has an amazing shot of the landscape. Sedona seems to be in the middle of Arizona. Apparently the town is only 19.1 square miles but attracts many tourists.

I love the beach. Not in the sense of laying on it, but rather in the sense of just looking out at the ocean. There’s a great view of the ocean from the Ft Myers Cam, the location of today’s Saturday Safari. I’ve never been to Ft Myers, it’s in the southwest part of Florida. The picture here looks like you can almost see forever.

When I hear Tahoe I think of one of two things - the place or the truck. When I think of Tahoe the place I think of the skiing in the winter that I see on tv. I took a Saturday Safari to Tahoe this week, where it looks like nothing like the snowy place we all see on television during the winter. Thanks to the Tahoe webcam I know that in August it’s green, like lots of other places.

I don’t know why it is that I expect so many things about Alaska to be the opposite of what they are here in Jersey. Take summer for example. The Ketchikan, Alaska webcam is where I went for today’s Saturday Safari. Look at the amazing blue sky and the boats sitting peacefully at the docks like they’re sleeping. No snow in sight. Silly me!
