Niagara Falls is one of my Mom’s favorite places. I haven’t been there since I was very young and my memories of it are a little fuzzy. This week’s webcam is the Niagara Falls Cam and I believe the cam is on the Canada side of the falls. I live about eight hours from the falls. The view is breathtaking, especially considering it’s through a webcam. I can almost feel the spray of the water.

This week my son came home and informed me he wanted to go on a trip that one of the teacher’s holds every year or two. I wasn’t quite prepared for the folder he handed me, detailing a two week trip to Europe. I understand the desire to travel, I myself went to England and Scotland when I was his age.

All of this got me to thinking about parts of Europe that I wanted to see and never got a chance to, such as France. I always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower. In all likelihood, the Eiffel Tower cam is the closes I will ever get. You’ve got to see the Tower all lit up at night, it’s beautiful. It’s not too shabby looking at sunrise either.

I’ve driven through South Carolina several times, on my way to Florida. Once when we stopped I got attached by fire ants. I’ll probably never get out of my car in South Carolina again. Despite the fact that I know they’re there, I never think of South Carolina as home to beautiful island scenery. If you take a look at the Kiawah Island Cam, you’ll get a nice clear view of the beach and ocean from the Kiawah Island, which is part of South Carolina. According to the site this is a 10,000 acre  island that is home to many species of animals, reptiles and amphibians, as well as a spot known for sighting American Bald Eagles.

Tomorrow is Easter, which made me think of the Easter Bunny, which in turn made me think of real bunnies. So I went looking for a bunny cam.  I found a live webcam called The Brooklyn Bunny that features a live feed of a bunny named Roebling. The bunny is really cute, check him out.

Today I went out with a friend and we saw the new Fast And Furious movie. I love Vin Diesel! Paul Walker’s not too bad either. Anyway. There was footage in the movie that was supposed to be Mexico and I wondered if it really was. There were desert scenes, tunnel scenes and a scene at a Church and I wondered if it was really shot there.

I didn’t see any beach scenes in the Mexico footage but after I got home I found a webcam in Baja California, Mexico that focuses on the ocean. It’s about 40 minutes away from San Diego. Baja California, Mexico is on the Baja California peninsula and is a very well known wine region.

If you watched the last episode of Burn Notice for the season then you know Michael jumped out of a helicopter into the water somewhere around Miami. I was looking at webcams today and I came across the Biscayne Bay Cam. After looking at it and  some other sites showing the bay I thought this might be the body of water he jumped into. Do you know if it is or not?

It was about a year ago that as part of a celebration for my Dad a large group of us took a day trip to the Statue of Liberty. The weather that day was cold and rainy, at times it was torrential. Nevertheless, my son TJ and I persevered and explored the island and the statue. The Statue of Liberty cam provides a terrific shot of Lady Liberty. If you’ve never been there it’s a must see if you’re in the area. Just looking at the picture on the webcam is inspiring for me.

Well, my little portion of New Jersey got a lot of snow last Sunday – more than one foot! School was closed for two days. Snowmen could be seen in many yards, as could children playing and adults shoveling. I found a webcam called the Snowman Cam, which is located in Gaylord, Michigan. This webcam has won awards because it’s so unique and interesting.

I saw my brother this morning and we got to talking about travel. One of the places he wants to go is Cancun. That’s why today’s Saturday Safari takes us to Cancun via the Cancun Cam. Cancun is a city on the coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. I didn’t know until today that it was also called the Mexican Caribbean. More thaqn four million people visit Cancun every year. There are over 150 hotels in Cancun, most of which are contained within the “hotel zone”.

Today’s Saturday Safari takes us to celebrate Mardi Gras, going on right now in New Orleans. The webcam is located in the French Quarter, on the corner of Bourbon Street and St. Peter. Mardi Gras is a carnival type celebration that occurs just before Lent. Some people view it as the last opportunity to eat certain things. I’ve been to New Orleans but not during Mardi Gras. I think it’s more of a single or couple thing, not something for people with children. I’d love to hear if you’ve ever been to a Mardi Gras celebration and if you enjoyed it.
