Tired of going from room to room sorting laundry? There’s an easy way to put an end to it. Place a hamper in each person’s bedroom. If people share a room and things need to be separated due to detergent sensitivities or color issues place two hampers or a split hamper in the shared bedroom. Outfits will stay together. Less things will get misplaced and end up in the wrong drawers or closet. It’s also easier to pick up a hamper and carry it to the laundry room than it is to sort everyone’s clothes from one hamper and then carry what you’ve picked out to the laundry room.

Where do you store your pots and pans? If you’re like many people, you store your pots and pans in a cabinet when you’re not using them. Mine are in the bottom cabinet under the oven. That cabinet is too much of a pain to get into so keeping the pots and pans there works out. But if it was easier to get into I’d empty it out in a heartbeat to free up some more cabinet space. One way to free up the cabinet space your pots and pans take up is by hanging them. They can actually look really nice hanging. And, they’ll be right there ready and waiting when you need one. So. Where do you store your pots and pans?
Take everything out of the closet, after you’ve cleaned it out.
Group like items with like items.
Use hangers that can hold several pairs of pants.
Hang belts and ties on a hanging organizer.
Store clothing accessories such as scarves and gloves together in a small clear storage container.
Store sweaters on the top shelf or in clear under bed boxes.
Use the Back of the Door. There are different types of over the door hooks, from single hooks good for robes to over the door shoe organizers.
If you need more space consider adding a second rod to your closet so you have one high and one low.

This a continuation of my own little home improvement series. I’ve included a before and after picture. The small bathroom is attached to the master bedroom. It’s a newer bathroom, but quite small. I never considered organization, I just kept stuffing things in there. It got to a point where last week I realized not one more thing would fit in there. The left and center picture above are of the cabinet before organizing it. I organized some stuff and I threw some stuff away. I got rid of some things that were in there for three years and never used. I just neatened stuff that is used. The picture on the right is after organizing the cabinet. It’s much neater now, don’t you think?
